Job Description: Gatorade Team Sports Manager

The Gatorade Team Sports Manager (TSM) is one of the most critical roles within the Business Unit as this individual is the conduit between the brand and all contracted property sports medicine/performance staffs.

The TSM is directly responsible for managing all sports medicine / sports performance relationships with Gatorade’s contracted teams / individuals throughout the Midwest region of the U.S. The TSM will cultivate relationships with new collegiate and professional teams, as well as enhance existing relationships, interacting with athletic trainers, strength coaches, team doctors and nutritionists.

The TSM is on the front lines for all locker/training room intelligence related to the areas of hydration and sports nutrition and provides valuable insight back to the brand team to ensure understanding of the latest athlete trends and total hydration / sports nutritional needs. The TSM will play a leadership role consulting with the Gatorade Innovation team and R&D Product Development to help inform the development of product offerings to remain on the cutting edge of the latest athlete sports nutritional needs. The position will interact frequently with the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) and Professional Marketing team to understand and address new competitive product offerings and leverage our science and educational platforms. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working directly with athletes as well as working as part of a sports medicine / sports performance team, along with strong working knowledge of sports nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead Gold Standard Service Field Plan for all contracted properties

  • Proactively and credibly deliver Gatorade product efficacy message across entire portfolio.

  • Proactively, effectively, and credibly address competitive product efficacy claims.

  • Proactively plan product and premium needs for upcoming athletic seasons (forecasting and demand planning assistance)

  • Manage team partners’ access and navigation of online product ordering system.

  • Place premium (e.g. Coolers, bottles, towels) orders to ensure delivery in a timely fashion.

  • Look opportunistically beyond the training room to build relationships with athlete influencers

  1. Lead the development of marketing materials in conjunction with GSSI and Partner Services for all Gatorade properties with a focus on education, product efficacy, and functional superiority over competitive products.

  1. Act as the lead Sport Marketing representative on Gatorade product innovation project teams

  2. Provide insights from locker/training room to Marketing team to help inform future product pipeline, as well as resources/tools to support elite partners

  3. Collaborate with R&D to help inform future product development

  4. Collaborate with GSSI to facilitate the athlete testing program and protocols in the Midwest region ensuring key GSSI objectives are met.

  5. Attend regional / national meetings of sports performance practitioners including NATA, CSCCA, CPSDA

  6. Collaborate with Partner Services team on Registered Dietitian activations such as Gatorade Sports Nutrition Immersion Program and CPSDA Annual Conference.

  7. Clubhouse and on-field product and premium placement liaison at league jewel events to ensure Gatorade visibility.

Compensation & Benefits:
•Expected salary range is $100,000-$115,000.
•Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum 6-10 years of experience within the athletic setting as a Registered Dietitian.

    • Strong working knowledge of exercise physiology and sports nutrition.

    • Knowledge of training room and weight room economics and athlete product usage and supplementation

    • Knowledge and understanding of issues, trends and developments within the athletic training, strength coach and nutrition industries.

    • Strong understanding and efficacy knowledge of Gatorade Thirst Quencher and Gatorade hydration, energy, and recovery offerings. Strong understanding across entire portfolio, including Muscle Milk, Evolve, Propel, Cyto-sport, etc.

    • Experience in and around an athletic training room, locker room and weight room.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships, build consensus, and influence business partners

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently – high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Excellent multi-tasking, project management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

Job Description: Part-time Independent Contractor, Sports Nutritionist/Dietician to work with performing artists

Interested in applying the sports nutrition model to artistic athletes? This may be the perfect opportunity for you. In need of a part time (Saturday hours 10:00-1:00 EST or more and/or Wednesday mornings 9:00-12:00 EST) independent sports dietician consultant with a subspecialty in eating disorder/disordered eating and the Athlete Triad/RED-S to be part of the Performance Nutrition Team at a competitive Performance Art School. Primary responsibility is providing individual nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance and health/well-being of competitive artistic athletes including dancers, actors, vocalists and musicians. In addition to counseling on individual daily nutrition for performance, responsibilities include serving as a food and nutrition resource for students and administration; providing sports nutrition education for health/wellness programs -both material development and in person, creating some social media content, and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice. You will be part of a Medical/Wellness Team, provide suggestions to Café, and expected/encouraged to contribute innovative ideas to enhance existing program.

Requirements and core competencies.

  • 5 years’ experience preferred
  • Able to understand the extreme competitive nature, schedule demands, and physical requirements of professional performing artists in training including dance, drama, vocalists, and musicians.
  • Creative, energetic, self-motivated, conscientious, open to feedback, willing to be part of a team.
  • Saturday hours, 3 Saturdays a month, 3-5 hours required based on client need following school calendar (winter break, spring break, summers off).
  • A SECOND POSITION or both if one candidate wants both; Wednesday hours from 89:00 Am to 12:00 PM
  • 5 additional meetings/events, with notice, during the week throughout the year to participate in campus wide events and medical team meetings.
  • Understand and apply nutrient timing principle around classes, rehearsals and performances.
  • Develop and counsel on hydration protocols.
  • Use a non-diet, weight inclusive approach.
  • Experience in assessing for ED/DE and recommending appropriate care.
  • Addresses nutritional challenges to performance, such as energy deficiency, disordered eating, gerd, food allergies, bone mineral disturbances, gastrointestinal disturbances, iron depletion, and iron-deficiency anemia.
  • Be sensitive to international student food preferences.
  • Provide personalized meal and snack plans/ideas to promote achieving short- and long-term goals for athletic performance and good health.
  • Assist in several campus wide events and medical team meetings.
  • Well-versed in a range of eating preferences including vegan and popular trends like Paleo, Keto, etc.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy, as needed, to help manage or treat medical conditions.
  • Counsel athletes on optimal nutrition for recovery from illness or injury.
  • Counsel eating on-campus at Cafeteria as well as when students live off campus or travel.
  • Coordinate nutritional care as a member of multidisciplinary sports/health medical teams.
  • Contribute to creating handouts and other educational materials including social media.
  • Lead presentations (optional and compensated) not required.
  • Keep accurate records, tracking and documenting outcomes of nutrition services on EMR system and confidential files as part of medical and health services team.
  • Translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations.
  • Must maintain professional accreditation.
