    FYI: As part of the FDA's post-market food chemical assessment program currently underway, on February 10, 2026, the U.S. FDA issued a RFI re: the use & safety of butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) as a chemical component currently in use as a food preservative in the U.S. food supply. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/02/11/2026-02761/butylated-hydroxyanisole-bha-request-for-information                                

    That RFI & subsequent full review is just one example of such assessments/re-assessments FDA can conduct.
