House of Delegates - NEP

Meet our Delegate

Carol Sloan RDN, FAND, is our Delegate and is serving as Delegate through
May 2026.

Here is an update from the August 2025 meeting.

From the Academy

"With so much conflicting information about nutrition, it’s more important than ever to rely on science and evidence-based expertise.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is committed to helping sift through the noise and open more doors for practitioners to be heard by decision-makers and consumers.

The Academy’s Nutrition Fact Check summarizes today’s best available science and evidence on hot topics in nutrition and provides practitioners with a scientific review paper, as well as information that can be shared with patients and clients.

The Academy announced the launch of a new program from its Research and Policy teams called "Nutrition Fact Check."  The program is designed to help "sift through the noise and open more doors for practitioners to be heard by decision-makers and consumers."  It will focus on hot topics and provide evidence and professional materials for nutrition practitioners to share. The program is designed to amplify our voices and ensure that more evidence-based nutrition and health information continues to inform policy, media narratives, and consumer choices.  Topics covered:
