Malnutrition Quality Improvement

The Malnutrition Quality Improvement Initiative (MQii) is a process developed by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Avalere Health and other stakeholders. This process provides a standardized plan for how to identify and treat malnutrition in any type of healthcare facility. The initiative also suggests standard metrics to evaluate and track how well malnutrition is identified and treated.

MQii provides many resources to implement the process at any healthcare facility. Resources include:

  • Information reviewing the scope and benefit of improving malnutrition and explanation of the MQii process to share with hospital administrators and other stakeholders
  • Checklist of resources necessary to start a MQii project
  • List and explanation of electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) to be tracked
  • Many flowcharts describing how to start a MQii project at your facility as well as suggested clinical workflow”

This toolkit is a member benefit, designed for self-study or for collaborative learning for modest-sized group.

This toolkit includes printed information, a webinar, and practice sessions.
Note that the toolkit is no longer available for CPEU.
