Webinar description: The new 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans have increased the recommended protein target to 1.2-1.6 g/kg/day (16-21% of calories). At the same time, public discourse and dietary messaging continue to portray plant-based diets as inherently inadequate for meeting protein needs. In this session, Dr. Matthew Landry will critically evaluate the origins of protein anxiety, including historical context, industry influence, and misinterpretations of protein requirements, quality, and bioavailability.
