She is a board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition, has obtained her certificate of training in vegetarian nutrition from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and obtained her Plant-Based Nutrition certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through eCornell. Lisa works in Mayo Clinic’s Integrative Medicine and Health in the Cancer Survivorship Clinic helping patients build knowledge and skills to improve their diet and lifestyle following cancer treatment.

    Multidisciplinary Collaboration to Evaluate Dietary Supplements in Pediatric Oncology

    Objectives: Discuss the benefits of having a process for evaluating dietary supplements, both from the patient/caregiver and provider perspective. Describe the key elements of evaluating dietary supplements. Identify 3 criteria to evaluate when assessing dietary supplements in cancer patients. Speakers: Rachel Hill RD, CSO, LD, CNSC and Lauren Duran, PharmD, MBA, BCPPS Rachel Hill is a Clinical Dietitian at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. She received her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University and completed her internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She has spent her career specializing in the care of pediatric oncology patients and enjoys collaborating with her team to advance care for these patients. Lauren Duran is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. She received her bachelor's degree, MBA, and Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Texas Tech University. After graduation she completed a two-year pharmacy residency program where she specialized in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. In addition to her love of Pediatric Hem/Onc and Bone Marrow Transplant, she has a passion for Medication Safety and Palliative Care.
