Scholarships & Stipends

NOBIDAN offers scholarships and stipends to NOBIDAN student members. They are awarded to further education, obtain certifications, gain leadership skills and involvement in professional activities.

🎓 Dr. Evelyn Crayton Scholarship — Empowering Future RDNs 

Honoring past Academy president Dr. Evelyn Crayton, RDN, this scholarship fuels your journey toward becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Award at a Glance

• Six (6) scholarships of $1,500 each — three awarded Fall and three Spring
• Service-Forward: Each recipient serves on a NOBIDAN committee for the 2026–2027 membership year
• Two Application Windows:
• Fall Deadline:  November 30, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET)
• Spring Deadline:  April 30, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET)

Are You Eligible?

You must:

1. Be a current Student Member of both the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and NOBIDAN. (Need to join or renew? Start here →)
2. Be accepted or enrolled in an ACEND®-accredited Dietetic Internship (DI)or Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CP). (Graduate-only programs (GP) without supervised practice are ineligible.)
3. Have at least one academic year remaining in your DI after the deadline for which you apply.
4. Hold a minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale).

Awaiting your DI match? Apply during the Spring window after you receive match confirmation in early April. Use the time beforehand to prepare your materials.

What You’ll Submit

• Online Application (≈ 10 minutes)
• Personal Statement (≤ 500 words)
• Current Résumé
• Unofficial Transcript
• One Letter of Reference

If selected, you must provide your official DI acceptance letter before funds are released

Timeline

*All scholarship recipients will complete their minimum 1-year committee service during the 2026–2027 membership year to foster collaboration across cohorts.

Kick-start your professional journey at the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®) with a $100 stipend from the National Organization of Blacks in Dietetics and Nutrition (NOBIDAN). We’re empowering the next generation of nutrition leaders—will you be one of them?

What’s in It for You?

• $100 Cash Stipend to offset travel, lodging, or registration costs.*

Who’s Eligible?

3. Able to submit the online application by September 26, 2025.
4. Ready to serve a minimum of 2 hours at NOBIDAN-sponsored events during the conference.
