Crystal Vasquez, MS, RD-AP, LD, CNSC, NWCC, FAND, is the Director of Nutrition Systems with Morrison Healthcare. Crystal has a passion for evidence-based nutrition practice, which has shaped her diverse career, including speaking at national conferences and presenting research at multiple California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CAND) conferences. She is recognized for her expertise in critical care and wound care nutrition and is one of only four dietitians in California to hold the Nutrition Wound Care Certification, leveraging her credentials to elevate patient care and expand dietitian involvement in wound care teams.
Crystal earned both her B.S. in Food and Nutrition with Honors (with minors in Psychology and Health Promotion) and her M.S. in Nutrition Education from California State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership. Before becoming an RD, she worked as a DTR serving mentally and physically disabled adults in care homes, gaining experience in both clinical and food service roles.
Crystal has held numerous leadership positions within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including serving on the Committee for Lifelong Learning, which plans the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE), and currently serving as President of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her leadership and volunteer work also extend to supporting LGBTQ+ organizations, including Free Mom Hugs and other advocacy groups.
When not working, furthering her education, or serving in leadership roles, Crystal is a mother to six grown children and grandmother to two. She enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs, and finding creative outlets like crochet.
