I’m Carla Escribano, a registered dietitian, educator, and advocate dedicated to improving nutrition, especially within school food systems. With a Doctorate in Education and years of experience in the field, my career has focused on enhancing the nutritional quality of school meals while ensuring they meet USDA standards. I firmly believe that good nutrition is crucial to a child's development, and I work tirelessly to make healthy food choices more accessible for students.
As a registered dietitian, I’ve had the privilege of leading school nutrition programs, making impactful changes that prioritize both nutrition and compliance. I was honored to be named the 2023 Director of the Year by the School Nutrition Association of Pennsylvania (SNAPA) for my leadership and commitment to improving school nutrition. I also received the Achieva Employee Excellence Award for fostering inclusive environments. My approach to school nutrition combines expertise in dietetics with a practical, student-centered mindset, always keeping the well-being of young people at the forefront.
In addition to serving on the board of the School Nutrition Didactic Program, I’m also the founder of CFE Nutrition, where I offer nutrition counseling, school food service consulting, and public speaking on wellness and nutrition. I’m passionate about advocating for better policies and securing better funding for child nutrition programs, ensuring that students everywhere have access to the healthy meals they need to thrive.
Mentoring and educating the next generation of nutrition professionals is something I deeply value. I am committed to supporting students pursuing careers in school nutrition by sharing my knowledge, experience, and passion for making a meaningful difference in the world of food and wellness.
