Carol Sloan is an independent consultant with expertise in food and nutrition communications and food service management. Carol has worked with a wide variety of companies conducting print and broadcast interviews on health and nutrition topics. She is also a freelance journalist specializing in delivering scientifically sound, realistic information all about food, nutrition and health. Carol currently provides a nutrition column for School News Roll Call. Carol recently served two terms as a delegate to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was a member of the Academy Positions Committee and Finance and Audit Committee. Carol is the newsletter editor for the NEP DPG Networking News and is the Award Chair for the PHCN DPG. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010 and the Excellence in Business Award in 2022. Carol served as a preceptor to the Individualized Supervised-Practice Pathway Program at California State University, San Bernardino and the master’s Dietetic Internship at California State University, Long Beach for over 10 years.
