    Strategies for Optimizing Patient Outcomes with Emerging Weekly Insulin Therapies

    Hosted in partnership with Decera Clinical Education with support from an educational grant from Lilly.

    The goal of this webinar is to improve the knowledge and competence of healthcare professionals regarding the latest evidence on weekly insulin formulations in development, equipping healthcare professionals with the skills needed to incorporate emerging therapies once available by identifying appropriate patients, analyzing recent evidence for novel and emerging therapies, and counseling patients on the safe use of these therapies to achieve glycemic goals in patients with T2D.

    This educational activity is intended for certified diabetes care and education specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes, including registered dietitian nutritionists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and pharmacists.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

    • Evaluate strategies for diabetes educators to maximize patient glycemic control
    • Analyze recent evidence for new and emerging therapies for glycemic control in T2D
    • Identify the role of diabetes educators in optimizing patient care in light of emerging insulin therapies

    Our presenter will discuss the key updates to the 2026 ADA Standards of Care in Diabetes relevant to the practice of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who work with people with diabetes. (This webinar will satisfy 1.0 CPEU Standards of Care requirement for renewal of the CDCES credential)

    Presenter Bio:
    Kathy Warwick is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with over 40 years of experience in several areas of dietetics practice.  She is owner of Professional Nutrition Consultants, LLC in Madison, Mississippi, providing diabetes education and support services, long-term care consultation, and medical-legal consultation. She has provided team-based care in outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings in underserved areas of her home state of Mississippi.
    Kathy speaks regularly to community and professional groups and has presented multiple national webinars. She has authored several peer reviewed articles related to cardiometabolic care and a book chapter for the updated American Diabetes Association’s Nutrition Guide. She is a Past-President of the Mississippi Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Kathy has served previously as Print Communications Chair and Professional Development Chair for the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group and she is the current Chair-Elect of the Diabetes DPG.
