With an overwhelming number of possibilities, I'm looking for your suggestions on where to eat when I visit my daughter next month. I'll probably be back several times, so don't need "must do" tourist eateries. I'm more interested in places that might be off the beaten path, interesting, and moderately priced. Any favorites in Astoria (where she lives), Brooklyn, or Manhattan?

    Marie,

I highly recommend Cafe Mars in Brooklyn. In May we hosted a private Academy Foundation fundraising dinner there and the food and service are always interesting and fabulous! It is also easily accessible via subway

    Hi Marie,

it is also NYC restaurant week July 21-August 17th - link below. We usually try to get to 1-2 places during this time. If you're going to be in Astoria, I would recommend trying Astoria Seafood - it gets pretty busy, but totally worth it.
