    Alyson,

Thanks for calling attention to the new mentoring program. I've been a mentor nearly my entire career, and I have one mentee with whom I've been connecting quarterly for the past 15 years. I've seen her progress from an insecure undergraduate unsure if dietetics was right for her to a polished professional making impact at various state and federal agencies in the D.C. area. Working with her and other mentees give me so many valuable insights into how younger professionals view opportunities, deal with setbacks, and value the Academy. I also have a mentee from Canadia who provides insights into the work of RDs in Canada, helping better appreciate the similarities and differences between our two counties.

I love being a mentor and would love to hear from other FCP members about their experiences being a mentor. I should also point out that most of my mentors are FCP members. I'd be remiss without mentioning how important they have been in guiding and coaching me during my career.

    Amy

Thank you for sharing the opportunity to join as a mentor for our profession. Amy, what you shared made a difference for me. I plan to sign up as a mentor because of the meaningful words about your experience. Thank you also for taking the time to generously offer your insights and expertise to me recently. Warmly, Suzanne
