Key Takeaways: A study investigates how Wisconsin School Districts updated their wellness policies in the 2016 final rule of The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Acts. Out of 442 school districts, only 192 updated their wellness policies between 2016-2018. Those who updated their policy improvement in policy quality of Wellstat 2.0 (Standards for USDA School Meals, Nutrition Standards for Competitive Foods, Physical Education, and Physical Activity, Implementation, Evaluation, and Communication ) except for nutrition education. Wellness Promotion and Marketing. Success for these updates was largely due to strong leadership, adequate support and leadership, and commitment to change school culture, prioritizing student wellness.
