In a randomized controlled clinical trial of pregnant women with gestational diabetes women in the intervention group received outpatient nutritional guidance along with reminders via WhatsApp while women in the control group received exclusively outpatient nutritional guidance. Results indicated that a higher percentage of pregnant women in the intervention group showed adequate glycemic control in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth weeks of follow-up, with no statistically significant difference regarding the need for insulin. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of outpatient nutritional guidance supplemented by digital media with exclusively standard outpatient nutritional guidance in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus.
