Meghan Martinson is the Assistant Director of Child Nutrition for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District in North Fort Worth, Texas. In her time with Eagle Mountain-Saginaw, she has worked with her director to improve the quality of food served in the district and promote fresh fruits and vegetables as well as local Texas-grown products. Students now have access to higher quality proteins, and higher quality fruits and vegetables. Meghan coordinates the logistics required to oversee a district with 34 kitchens feeding 24,000 students. She oversees federal meal compliance and also helps manage personnel and human resource needs for the department. Meghan is most excited to have developed a Retention and Recognition Committee within her department. She has been featured nationally for her innovative monthly fusion food recipes and additional menu items offered in the district. Meghan has been a presenter for School Nutrition Association and has completed the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Leadership Institute. Meghan's Smart Snack compliant recipes for the district’s four high school Bistros help the district to bring in additional revenue each year to be reinvested in reimbursable meal food quality improvements. Meghan received her Bachelor of Science with a focus in Dietetics from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln and received her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Memphis.  In 2019, she was named one of Today’s Dietitian Magazine’s TD10, an annual showcase of 10 RD’s Who Are Making a Difference. Meghan has served as Treasurer (2021-2023) and Chair-Elect (2023-2024) for School Nutrition Services DPG. She also served as the Scholarship Chair for the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Northeast Region in 2022. Meghan currently serves as the Chair of the SNS DPG. When she is not working, she can probably be found in the kitchen at home with her husband and three daughters, ages 12, 8, and 6.
